Concerned about the safety of its population, the City of La Malbaie has a disaster response plan. This intervention plan, which is constantly evolving, makes it possible to better guide the various interventions during a major disaster.
The response plan is an effective means of mitigating risks, thereby preserving life and protecting citizens' property during a disaster situation. The planning structure is based on two entities: the City Council and the municipal civil security organization that includes the city's employees and its various partners.
Alongside this organization, the City of La Malbaie also participates in the coordination table of the Regional Emergency Measures Committee, commonly known as COMUR. This committee brings together all the stakeholders of the Charlevoix-Est MRC. COMUR is a round table that provides better guidance for the prevention and planning measures of each of the municipalities in this organization. It also makes it possible to better coordinate the various organizations that can be requested during a disaster.
