Code of Ethics and Deontology:

The Municipal Ethics and Professional Conduct Act, which came into force on December 2, 2010, required municipalities to adopt a code of ethics and professional conduct applicable to municipal elected officials and employees;

The Act also required municipalities to revise their code of ethics and conduct, which applied to elected officials as well as to municipal employees, by March 30, 2014;

The City of Malbaie adopted at the meeting of March 10, 2014, bylaw 998-14 on the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct of Elected Officials and Municipal Employees.

Policy for Seniors of the City of La Malbaie:

The municipality of La Malbaie participated in the MADA (municipality for seniors) initiative collectively carried out with the Charlevoix-Est MRC and the other municipalities of the MRC;

An age-friendly municipality aims to counter ageism, adapt its policies, services and structures, act in a holistic and integrated way, encourage the participation of seniors and rely on consultation and mobilization of the entire community.

The City of La Malbaie adopted at the meeting of 19 January 2015 its MADA policy.

Donation Policy of the City of La Malbaie:

The City of La Malbaie adopted a new donation policy at the council meeting on March 9, 2015.

The purpose of the donation policy is to clearly define and oversee the entire process for evaluating donation requests to City Council, taking into account the orientations adopted over the years.

To receive any donation, any organization must make a written request to the municipal council.

Contractual Management Policy:

The City of La Malbaie has adopted a new contract management policy on February 14, 2011.

The main objective of the City of La Malbaie's Contract Management Policy is to assure citizens that the money spent on the acquisition of goods and services is in accordance with the principles of sound administration.

Social Media Usage Policy:

To ensure the effectiveness and consistency of web communications, this social media policy has been put in place. This serves to outline practices of use of the different social media of the City of La Malbaie.

The social media policy is for City employees, and to some extent for City Council members. It is in place to promote exchanges with citizens, while complying with established rules and existing laws.
