PROCEDURE FOR SUBMITTING A CLAIM
If you believe that you have been wronged or that you are entitled to compensation from the City for injury, damage or loss to you or to your property.You must as quickly as possible send a letter (preferably by registered mail) to the municipality explaining your claim. The letter must indicate the date of the incident, the circumstances, the person or persons involved and the invoices pertaining to the claim.
The municipality will send you an acknowledgement of receipt of your claim adding that it will forward the claim to its insurance company.
If necessary, an agent of the insurance company will contact you to establish whether or not the municipality is liable. Subsequently, the insurance company will notify you of its decision to accept or deny your claim.
