HOW TO APPLY FOR A DWELLING IN LOW RENTAL HOUSING

Any person wishing to lease a dwelling in low rental housing must apply in writing to the lessor and must furnish him with documents certifying his income and the incomes of the members of his household, proof of his current residence and the address of any previous residences during the 24 months preceding the date on which the application is submitted, as well as the following particulars on the form supplied to him by the Société d’habitation du Québec and available at the office of the Municipal Housing Bureau of La Malbaie, which is located at 250, chemin de la Vallée:

1. His surname, first name, date of birth, social insurance number and telephone number and the surname, first name, date of birth and social insurance number of each member of the household and his relationship with the applicant;

2. His status as a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, as the case may be;

3. His status as a handicapped person or the status as a handicapped person of a member of his household;

4. His income and the incomes of his household;

5. The total value of his property and of the property of his household;

6. His housing costs;

7. The housing defects affecting his dwelling and, in the case of a handicapped person, the architectural barriers;

8. The number of bedrooms in his dwelling.

The lessor shall enter in the register of applications for the lease of a dwelling in low rental housing to be kept by him for the selection territory (City of La Malbaie) any applications meeting the provisions set forth above.

Within 30 days following receipt of an application for a lease, the lessor must acknowledge receipt and inform the applicant of the decision to enter or not to enter his application in the register.
