ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

An applicant meeting the following conditions shall be eligible to lease a dwelling in low rental housing in the category to which he is entitled:

1.	He is entered on the register of applications to lease;
2.	He can take care of his essential needs independently or with outside help or the help of a person living with him, in particular those needs related to personal care and ordinary household tasks;
3.	He is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident within the meaning of the Immigration Act and he is a resident of the province of Québec;
4.	He has resided in the territory covered by the selection for a period of not less than 12 consecutive months during the 24 months preceding the date on which his application or renewal thereof is submitted; The criterion for the period of residence does not apply to an applicant who is a handicapped person or whose household includes such a person. It also does not apply to an applicant who is a victim of domestic violence as indicated in an attestation issued by a shelter for such persons, by a police force, by a hospital or by a local community service centre (CLSC), and containing detailed information on the person’s situation.
5.	His income and the incomes of his household are equal to or less than the maximum amount applicable to him under the Canada-Québec Global Agreement on Social Housing.
