1. The New City

The new urban entity of the City of La Malbaie is the result of two consecutive amalgamations :
On 1st February 1995, a new entity, City of La Malbaie—Pointe-au-Pic,
was created with the merger of the existing City of La Malbaie and the town of Pointe-au-Pic.
On 1st December 1999, a new and larger City of La Malbaie was established with the amalgamation of the City of La Malbaie—Pointe-au-Pic and the municipalities of Rivière-Malbaie and Saint-Fidèle, the town of Cap-à-l'Aigle and the parish of Saint-Agnès.
